• The Illinois Defense Council has recently appointed David Lewin to serve on its newly formed IDC Think Tank Task Force. The Task Force will address proposed state legislation, Illinois Supreme Court rules and pattern jury instructions.

• Harlene Matyas and Jennifer Kay attended The Women’s Congress in Miami, Florida on January 24 and 25. Jennifer was a featured speaker at the event and both women met with individuals from around the country to discuss recent legal developments impacting their businesses and organizations.

• The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) recently invited David Lewin to speak at its Professional Development Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 12, 2008. David’s topic will be “Risk Management for Sub-Contractors.”

• Douglas Crone and Panos Topalis were recently selected to serve as co-chairs of the Illinois Defense Council Professional Liability Committee. As co-chairs, Doug and Panos will oversee the committee’s newsletter and direct the group’s spring seminar.

• Tribler Orpett & Meyer, P.C. was recently invited to join the Council on Ethical Billing, an association of law firms, businesses and insurance companies committed to the fair and ethical provision of legal services.
