Corinne Mitchell focuses her practice on general tort defense, insurance coverage and litigation, professional liability matters, as well as operating specialty equine law services. Ms. Mitchell also has experience in handling mass action product liability claims and previously served as a federal law clerk in the Southern District of Illinois to the honorable Judge David R. Herndon engaging in both term and MDL clerking duties. Ms. Mitchell has achieved dismissal of cases or portions thereof, including insurer bad faith handling litigation, through verdict and dispositive motions. Prior to joining Tribler Orpett & Meyer, she served as a litigation partner in the Metro-East area engaging in a full range of litigation duties on behalf of large insurers’ general liability policies, including written discovery, depositions, expert witness management, and alternative dispute methods such as mediation and arbitration.

Ms. Mitchell brings a dual expertise to her equine law practice, seamlessly navigating both courtroom advocacy and contractual negotiations. Ms. Mitchell advises and consults with owners, breeders, trainers, riders, veterinarians, show management, and businesses on a full spectrum of legal issues, including commercial and equine leases, purchase and sale agreements, malpractice matters, business formation, and risk mitigation strategies. Her transactional work includes drafting and negotiating contracts that protect her clients’ interests while minimizing exposure to liability. Ms. Mitchell is well-versed in drafting many types of equine contracts, including board agreements, liability releases, and purchase/lease agreements.  Ms. Mitchell has been peer-selected as an “emerging lawyer” each year from 2019 through 2025.
